Mountain Adventure Program
In the Fall and Spring Buffalo Cove serves as an experiential learning site for the Two Rivers Community School, a public Expeditionary Learning charter school located in Boone, NC. Students in grades 3-8 have the chance to come to Buffalo Cove for 2-3 day programs where the students' classroom turns into the wilderness. While Buffalo Cove is not an Outward Bound organization The Buffalo Cove experience covers all ten outward bound expeditionary learning design prinicples: Self Discovery The Having of Wonderful Ideas Responsbility for Learning Empathy and Caring Success and Failure Collaboration and Competition Diversity and Inclusion The Natural World Solitude and Reflection Service Compassion In addition Buffalo Cove provides custom programming to meet the needs of indiviudal classroom expeditions and emphasizes the core Buffalo Cove principles of respect, community, expriential learning and confidence. |
