Fire + Blade Skills Deposit
6-day session: June 28 – July 3, 2024 // Ages 11 – 14
Total tuition cost: $850
Two crucial areas of competence for any outdoor adventurer or bushcraft enthusiast are the use of fire and sharp edges. In this session, we will explore each extensively! Each day we will learn, and practice, new skills and crafts centered around making and using fire.
Examples of fire techniques that we may explore include one-match fires, flint and steel fires, bow drill fires, wet wood fires, solar fires, fero rod fires, survival fires, signal fires, carrying fire, and making things with fire.
Each day, we will get better at using sharp edges through the safe practice of knives, saws, and chopping tools. We will learn how to care for and maintain our edge. We will practice whittling, survival skills with a knife, tool making, bucking and splitting wood, and the myriad of things we can craft from the forest with a hand saw and a good knife.

This deposit secures a spot in this program. The remaining session tuition balance is due May 1st, 2024, and can be paid here. For multi-session campers and multi-camper families, tuition discounts can be applied at checkout (more information is below). In the coming weeks, you’ll receive information about camp logistics and forms via email.
Enrollment is on a “first come, first served” basis. All final payments and forms must be received no later than May 1st, 2024 (this is very important for our summer planning). There will be a $50 processing fee for all camper forms received after May 15th.
Refund Policy: Since it is impossible to plan and budget for programs so small with the possibility of last-minute camper dropouts due to health reasons, we have had to instate a stricter refund policy in order to protect our investment in programming and the financial future of Buffalo Cove.
If there is a camper cancellation prior to May 1st, we will refund 50% of the camper tuition.
We will not be able to offer refunds for cancellations after May 1st.
If Buffalo Cove has to cancel the session for unforeseen circumstances, we will refund your money.
We strongly encourage families to look into “trip insurance” if they would like to secure further refund possibilities.
